Chassis Code: FE1
The Dharma: "Joy."
The 11th Generation Civic Si (Chassis Code: FE1) represents a shift in philosophy from "Raw Aggression" to "Refined Precision." It is the most rigid Civic Si chassis ever produced.
Where previous generations sought attention through exterior vents and angles, the FE1 seeks connection through chassis dynamics. It is designed to disappear around the driver, leaving only the sensation of the road.
"The Stable Base"
The FE1 utilizes Honda’s global architecture but with Si-specific strengthening.
Rigidity: 8% increase in torsional rigidity and 13% increase in bending rigidity compared to the 10th Gen. This creates a platform that reacts instantly to steering inputs.
Suspension: MacPherson Strut (Front) / Multi-Link (Rear).
The Type R Connection: The FE1 borrows the front compliance bushings directly from the FK8 Civic Type R. This reduces compliance (play) in the suspension, making the turn-in sharper and more immediate.
Stabilizer Bars: Thicker hollow bars (27mm front / 18mm solid rear) minimize body roll without destroying ride quality.
"The Force Generator"
Engine Code: L15CA Type: 1.5-Liter Turbocharged Inline-4 Compression Ratio: 10.3:1
This is an evolution of the L15B7, optimized for broader power delivery rather than peaky numbers.
VTEC: Located on the exhaust side. Unlike the high-rpm screamers of the past, VTEC here is used to spool the turbocharger faster at low RPMs.
The Turbine: Features a re-shaped turbine wheel with 11 blades (up from 9). This reduces rotational inertia, meaning less turbo lag and faster throttle response.
The Output:
Horsepower: 200 hp @ 6,000 rpm.
Torque: 192 lb-ft @ 1,800–5,000 rpm.
Note: The torque curve is flat. From 1,800 to 5,000 rpm, you have maximum torque available instantly. This is "usable" power.
"The Interface"
The FE1 is available only with a 6-speed manual transmission. There is no automatic option. This is a deliberate filter for the driver base.
Rev-Matching System: Borrowed directly from the Civic Type R. In "Sport" mode, the ECU automatically blips the throttle on downshifts (430m/s response time), perfectly matching engine speed to wheel speed.
Flywheel: A Single-Mass Flywheel replaces the heavier dual-mass unit of the 10th gen.
Result: 26% reduction in rotational inertia. The engine revs up and down significantly faster.
LSD: Standard Helical Limited-Slip Differential. In hard cornering, it mechanically transfers power to the outside wheel, pulling the car through the turn rather than letting the inside wheel spin.
"The Optimization"
Your specific VIN belongs to the mid-cycle refresh (2025+), which integrates modern data infrastructure with the analog driving experience.
Google Built-in: The 9-inch touchscreen now runs natively on Android Automotive OS. Google Maps is integrated into the instrument cluster.
Heated Seats: A critical return of creature comforts for the US market.
Visuals: Revised front bumper with a hexagonal grille pattern and darker, smoked taillights.
USB-C: Standardization of ports for high-speed data and charging.
